Wider 2.0, by Polyverse Music, is a free plugin that gives any mono signal the illusion of a wide stereo image — without the phase-cancellation problems that usually come with fake stereo widening. Turn it up and a mono vocal, synth, or guitar can spread out across the stereo field while staying fully in phase, even if the mix later gets summed back down to mono.
