Spitfire Labs

Spitfire LABS is a free plugin from Spitfire Audio that bundles dozens of orchestral, cinematic and experimental instruments into one lightweight interface — strings, pianos, pads, choirs, percussion and odder sound-design textures, all playable straight away. Instead of installing each instrument separately, LABS streams the samples on demand, so new free packs simply show up in the same window as the developer adds them.

Important: LABS is moving to Splice

Following Splice’s acquisition of Spitfire Audio in 2026, LABS and LABS+ are being retired on October 31, 2026. Existing installs keep working after that date, but won’t get new packs, updates or support. All of the LABS content is migrating into Splice INSTRUMENT — same free packs, just accessed through Splice’s app instead of the standalone LABS installer.

• Requirement: a Splice account is needed going forward to access INSTRUMENT and its LABS content.
