INTERSECT

Advanced Sample Slicer Instrument (VST3 / AU / Standalone)

INTERSECT is a powerful sample slicer instrument with per-slice locking, multiple time/pitch algorithms, and MIDI-triggered slice playback. Designed for creative chopping, performance slicing, and detailed micro-editing, it combines modern time-stretching with deep slice control.

Available for:

  • Windows (VST3 + Standalone)

  • macOS (VST3 + AU + Standalone)

  • Linux (VST3 + Standalone)

🔥 Core Features

🎯 Per-Slice Locking System

Each slice can:

  • Inherit global sample defaults

  • Or override parameters individually (via lock icon per field)

This allows hybrid workflows: global consistency + micro-level customization.

🎛 Multiple Time & Pitch Algorithms

Repitch

  • Pitch and speed linked (classic sampler behavior)

Stretch (Signalsmith Stretch)

  • Independent time & pitch control

  • TONAL limit (0–8000 Hz)

  • Formant Shift (±24 semitones)

  • Formant Compensation toggle

Bungee (Granular Mode)

  • Grain modes: Fast / Normal / Smooth

  • Creative stretch textures

When ALGO = Repitch + STRETCH = ON, pitch/tune become BPM-driven displays.

🎹 MIDI-Triggered Slice Playback

  • Slices mapped from C2 (MIDI 36) upward

  • Editable MIDI note per slice

  • Mute groups (0–32) for choke behavior

  • Polyphony control (1–31 voices)

  • All Notes Off (CC123) + All Sound Off (CC120) supported

✂ Slice Creation Methods

ADD

Manual draw slicing

LAZY

Real-time live chopping

AUTO

  • Transient detection (adjustable sensitivity)

  • Equal division (2–128 splits)

🧠 Advanced Editing Workflow

  • Snapshot-based Undo/Redo

  • Asynchronous file loading (no audio-thread blocking)

  • Zero-crossing snap (ZX)

  • Slice duplication via Ctrl-drag

  • Zoom anchored to cursor

  • Middle-mouse scroll + vertical zoom combo

🎚 Deep Slice Control

Per slice (lockable):

  • BPM (with Set BPM from duration)

  • Pitch (-48 to +48)

  • Tune (-100 to +100 cents)

  • ADSR envelope

  • Tail (release reads past slice edge)

  • Reverse

  • Loop modes (OFF / LOOP / PP)

  • Gain override

  • Output bus routing (1–16)

  • Stretch toggle

  • 1SHOT toggle

⚙ Header-Level Controls (Sample Defaults)

  • BPM + SET BPM calculator (16 bars to 1/16 note)

  • Pitch / Tune

  • Algorithm selection

  • Tonal / Formant / Grain (context-aware)

  • Stretch toggle

  • One-shot default

  • Full ADSR

  • Reverse / Loop

  • Mute group

  • Master Gain (-100 to +24 dB)

  • Max Voices

  • Panic button

  • Theme + UI scale settings

  • NRPN configuration

🎛 NRPN Hardware Control Support

INTERSECT supports NRPN-based slice editing for advanced controller workflows.

Requirements:

  • Endless encoders (not fixed knobs)

  • Must send CC96 (Increment) / CC97 (Decrement)

  • Absolute CC6/38 not supported

Adjust:

  • Zoom

  • Slice Start

  • Slice End

⚠ Ableton Live does NOT support this due to CC routing limitations.
Works in REAPER and Bitwig without additional configuration.

This window is simply too small; it can’t be resized at all.
