Grex Ballada is a free arranger instrument plugin from Fanan Team, built around the old hardware-arranger workflow you’d get from a Yamaha Tyros or Korg Pa. Play chords with your left hand and it generates a full backing band around them, while your right hand plays lead sounds on top.
Features
- 90 built-in ballad styles, each a full band setup with its own instruments, mixer levels, effects, tempo and time signature (4/4, 3/4, 6/8, 7/8).
- Split keyboard: left hand drives the arranger, right hand plays up to 8 layered solo voices.
- One Finger and Fingered chord modes, from simple triads up to 9th/13th chords.
- Automatic harmony generator (duet, trio, block, octave, fifth) for your right-hand melody.
- Style Ducker that carves out frequency space for your melody instead of just turning the whole band down.
- 16 section pads (intros, variations, fills, break, endings), drag-and-drop MIDI learn, and a built-in song recorder that captures full arranger performances.
- Full DAW project recall, so reopening a session restores your exact setup.
It’s built specifically around ballads and slower, melodic material, not general-purpose multi-genre arranging.
Compatibility
Free, no copy protection. VST3, AU & CLAP, Windows & macOS, 64-bit.
