BFD Player is the free version of inMusic’s acclaimed BFD drum software, built on the same acoustic drum engine, mixer, and groove library technology as the flagship BFD3. It comes loaded with a 5GB Core library and 340 studio-recorded grooves, giving you a radio-ready drum sound in minutes without needing any expansion packs.
Features
- 5GB Core drum library with full velocity layers and channel access — not a stripped-down demo library.
- 340 grooves from professional drummers, searchable by genre, tempo, and leading hand.
- Simplified mixer with 4 macro controls for quick tone shaping, or full manual control with separate outputs per drum for use with your own plugins.
- 3D kit view with switchable drum pieces.
- Kit Piece Browser to swap individual drums for pieces from BFD expansion packs (sold separately).
- Collection of production-ready presets, including an “Original Mix” preset with access to every channel.
Compatibility
Available in VST / VST3 / AU / AAX, plus standalone mode, for Windows 10 (version 1909+) and macOS 10.14–13+ (Intel & Apple Silicon).
Good to know
BFD Player runs on the free Core library out of the box — the Kit Piece Browser and extra grooves/kits from BFD’s expansion packs are optional paid add-ons. An internet connection is required for authorization.
