AMBEO Orbit is Sennheiser’s free binaural panner, built for positioning mono or stereo sources inside a 3D, headphone-based mix. Instead of relying on a conventional reverb to fake space, it uses a dedicated binaural room-reflections model plus a patented “clarity” control that lets you dial in how much of that binaural coloration you actually want to hear.
Features
- Full 3D positioning of mono or stereo sources around the listener, for headphone-based binaural mixes.
- Patented clarity control to adjust how much binaural coloration is applied to each source.
- Dedicated binaural room-reflection engine for more accurate spatial placement than a standard reverb plugin.
Compatibility
VST / VST3 / AU / AAX, for Windows & macOS, 32 and 64-bit.
Good to know
Sennheiser has discontinued AMBEO Orbit, and its intended successor (dearVR MICRO) has since been discontinued too — Dear Reality’s plugin licenses were deactivated in July 2025. Since it’s no longer available from the developer, we’re hosting the original Windows installer (v1.0.1) directly.

!! AMBEO Orbit is now known as dearVR MICRO !!
Note that while most Dear Reality plugins were made free, they will no longer be developed or maintained.
